Cavan Boland
Cavan serves as the Chairman of the Board of Volunteers of LHON Canada but has in addition been affected with LHON 14484 since 2009. He has been very fortunate to have recovered some of his eyesight following the acute stage of onset of LHON. As a way to remain connected to the LHON community and pass on information to family members who are carriers of the disease, Cavan has attended conferences held in the United States and has kept engaged in the community globally. His goal with LHON Canada is to build a much stronger network of people who are both affected and are carriers of the disease in Canada, as well as advocate for clinical trials in Canada and ultimately find a cure.
Cavan has worked for over five years in Real Estate Investment Management. His employer, Timbercreek, is one of the largest private equity real estate asset managers in Canada.
Cavan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University and is pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA).
